For the second year-in-a-row, Mississauga Fire and Emergency Services (MFES) has partnered with Enbridge Gas Distribution (Enbridge) and the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council to improve home safety and fire prevention practices through a product donation valued at $52,911.
Project Zero is a public education campaign that aims to reduce the number of residential fire and carbon monoxide (CO) related deaths to zero. Through the campaign, residents in 15 Ontario municipalities will receive a total of 3,330 smoke/CO alarms. MFES will receive 882 Kidde worry-free combination smoke and CO alarms to distribute throughout the community.
For the first time, MFES is also partnering with local Mississauga food banks to distribute the alarms to residents in need across the city.
The official presentation from Enbridge and the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council to MFES will take place at Fire Headquarters on Friday, September 29, details below.
