The City of Mississauga is accepting nominations for the Civic Award of Recognition Program. Residents who have volunteered in the community for more than 10 years can be nominated. The City’s spring recognition evening will be hosted by Mayor Hazel McCallion and Members of Council.

When: Tuesday, May 7, 2013
Ceremony: 7 to 8 p.m.
Reception: 8 to 9 p.m.
Where: Mississauga Civic Centre, 300 City Centre Drive (Burnhamthorpe Road and Duke of York Blvd.)

The ceremony will be held in the Council Chamber and the reception will follow in the Great Hall.

Why: The City’s Civic Award of Recognition is part of an on-going recognition program which honours residents annually since 1992. Other awards in the program include the Certificate of Recognition, the Civic Award of Merit and Civic Award of Philanthropy.

Deadline for nomination submissions is Friday, March 12, 2013 at 4:30 p.m.

Due to limited seating capacity, only the first 100 nominations received will be considered for this year’s event.
