Explore the city by bike during the Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee’s (MCAC) 6th annual Tour de Mississauga on Sunday, September 15, 2013. This year, the Tour has added a 15 km Family Ride.

Beginning and ending at Mississauga Celebration Square, the Tour is one of the largest free cycling events in southern Ontario. It features four different routes and is open to cyclists with any level of experience and on any bike including electric assist bikes. All children 17 years and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Registration is free and can be completed online (www.mississaugacycling.ca/tour) or in person at City of Mississauga Community Centres

8 a.m. – 100 km Challenge Road Ride

8:30 a.m. – 60 km Signature Ride

9:30 a.m. – 30 km Leisure Ride

10:30 a.m. – 15 km Family Ride

 

Where:   Mississauga Celebration Square

300 City Centre Drive (Burnhamthorpe Road West & Hurontario Street)

Routes:

  1. Symons Group (Scotia McLeod) Family Ride – This 15 km (9.3 miles) paved route targets families with children seven years of age and older. It is the perfect Sunday morning family ride through Mississauga’s downtown
  2. Grant Thornton Leisure Ride – This 30 km (18 miles) ride features mainly paved off-road trails.
  3. ACG Signature Ride – This 60 km (37 miles) route covers a variety of on and off-road paved trails throughout the city.
  4. Invesco Challenge Road Ride – This 100 km (62 miles) route covers most of the City. It is a road only ride for experienced cyclists who are up for a challenge.

All the rides include ‘get back quick’ options.

This year’s Tour concludes with a free barbecue for all participants from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., compliments of the Region of Peel.
