Mississauga’s latest Accessibility Plan shows how the City continues to improve services for people with disabilities.  The plan focuses on the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation made under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. This Regulation follows the City’s standards for employment, information and communication, transportation, facilities and places that have already made the City more accessible.

The reports show city-wide accessibility improvements including transit’s progress. MiWay’s Accessibility Plan is committed to providing transportation options for people with disabilities.  Successes in 2014 include accessible improvements to MiWay’s website and web content, new accessible training for all employees, as well as the on-going construction of concrete bus pads and sidewalks along all routes.  MiWay is working toward making the system more accessible through a fully accessible fleet and external announcements on all bus routes.
