Holiday Parking

Late last year, I bought a Motion forward before City Council to request a change to the existing Traffic By-law to allow parking beyond the three-hour limit for the 10 statutory holidays including New Year’s Day; Family Day; Good Friday; Victoria Day; Canada Day; Civic Holiday; Labour Day; Thanksgiving Day; Christmas Day and Boxing Day.  Since then an amendment will be made to include Easter Monday.

Cars will be permitted to park between 8 am and midnight, must continue to be in compliance with the City of Mississauga’s Traffic By-law and all applicable laws.  Extended parking for other days can be requested 24/7 using the City’s Temporary Parking Permit Online Service  This online service allows requests to be made for short-term parking on a residential street.  Up to 14 short-term parking permits in a year for each address can be requested where there are no prohibited signs.  This permit is not valid on private property.  You can also make this request from your smartphone using Pingstreet – a free mobile app for the City.  The Pingstreet mobile app is free and available for download at the following stores App Store, Google Play, BlackBerry World and Windows Store.
